Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Applica, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
Applica is currently in beta. That means the platform is still new, features may change, and things may occasionally break. We'll do our best to keep things running smoothly, but please keep that in mind while using it.
This is a general terms template, not a substitute for legal advice. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. If you're relying on this for a real, public launch, get it properly reviewed first — especially since minors may use the platform.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering, including your real date of birth.
If you're under 18, we require a parent or guardian's name and email at signup. This helps a parent or guardian stay aware that you're using the platform.
3. What Applica is — and isn't
Applica is an applicant workspace: a tool to discover opportunities and organize your own applications. Applica is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the scholarship providers, universities, or organizations whose opportunities are listed, unless explicitly stated on that listing.
Listings go through an approval step before appearing publicly, but Applica cannot guarantee the accuracy, availability, or legitimacy of every third-party opportunity, and is not responsible for decisions made by the organizations offering them (admission, funding, deadlines, etc.). Always verify details on the official link provided before relying on them, especially deadlines.
If you believe a listing is fraudulent or misleading, please report it so we can review and remove it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: submit false or fraudulent opportunity listings; attempt to access another user's account; use Applica to harass or scam other users; or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform's security.
5. Your documents
Applica's Document Checklist helps you keep track of which application documents you have ready (CV, SOP, transcripts, etc.) — it does not store the actual files. You keep your real documents yourself (on your own computer, Google Drive, or wherever you prefer) and just check them off in Applica. We plan to support real file storage in a future update, with proper security in place first.
6. Submitted opportunity listings
If you or an organization submits an opportunity listing, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Applica reviews submissions before they go live but reserves the right to approve, reject, edit, or remove any listing at its discretion.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
Applica is provided "as is," especially while in beta. We work to keep the platform accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any opportunity listed will result in a successful application or award.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Applica is not liable for missed deadlines or decisions made by third-party organizations whose opportunities are listed on the platform. Since Applica doesn't store your actual documents (see Section 5), please keep your own backup copies of anything important.
9. Termination
You may stop using Applica and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including submitting fraudulent listings or misusing the platform.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Applica evolves, especially during the beta period. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
